Plainfield Presbyterian Mission Partnership

Watchung Avenue Presbyterian Church is one of the two urban ministry clusters in Elizabeth Presbytery. We are part of the Plainfield Presbyterian Mission Group, which is made up of five congregations:

Our congregations work to support each other in our shared ministries in the Plainfield, NJ area and to be active in local initiatives and advocacy efforts. We worship together once a year on the first Sunday in May, rotating between congregations. From time-to-time we get together for adult education and youth group offerings. 

Starting in 2012 all five of our congregations are working together in the Jeremiah Journey--discerning our way forward in mission and ministry and more intentional ways of sharing.  Each congregation sends 2-3 members plus their pastor to the Plainfield Jeremiah Team which is led by our facilitator, Elder Maryjane Finne of the Willow Grove Presbyterian Church in Scotch Plains, NJ!
