Music at WAPC
WAPC has a long tradition of excellence in worshiping God through music. Members of the congregation offer their musical talents in a variety of ways:
Chancel Choir
Comprised entirely from talented and dedicated volunteers form the congregation, the chancel choir leads congregational singing and performs two anthems at the 10:00 a.m. Sunday worship service from September through June, with weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 and at 9:00 on Sunday mornings prior to worship. We perform a broad range of music of all styles and periods and frequently offer a cappella performances which give us the best chance to communicate directly our love of God and Christ. If you are interested in joining the choir, please contact Jeremy Messmer. In addition to enhancing your worship through music you will be likely to improve your musical and singing skills and become part of a close-knit group of caring Christians.
The Hallelujah Bells
Using WAPC’s beautiful three-octave set of Malmark English handbells, The Hallelujah Bells perform in worship two or three times during the church year, with three or four Wednesday evening rehearsals (6:30 - 8:00) prior to each performance. We are always looking for more ringers, so if you can count and love music, contact Jeremy Messmer.
Instruments and Instrumentalists
WAPC is fortunate to have an excellent two-manual Moeller pipe organ, as well as a beautiful Knabe grand piano—unusually high quality instruments for a church of its size. We are also blessed to have several talented instrumentalists who offer up their talents in worship from time to time throughout the year.
